TEXTRANET (Textile Transfer Network) is a non-profit making association. Its head office is located on the IFTH Paris premises.
It has defined the following objectives:
- Providing technical and commercial advantages through
participation by all of its members
- Promoting the exchange of information among its members
- Facilitating the development of trans-national projects, with
particular emphasis on those receiving European funding
- Developing and maintaining co-operative links with professional
and textile associations, particularly with those involved in
pan-European activities
- Providing a forum for the promotion of technical progress within the
European textile industry.
In matters of research, very few companies, including large ones, have access to sufficiently technical resources, and small and medium companies even less than others.
This is where textile Technical Centres come in. Present in every European country, they are true partners assisting and guiding companies through their paces. Partners that call on new technologies, permanently follow innovations out in the field and place their capabilities and skills at the service of companies in the textile sector. Collective, associative or contractual projects, technical assistance, counselling, reports, certification, standards, information, training… Their activities are widely diversified and concern both general and collective, and individual interests.
Their position within the various networks allows Technical Centres to enhance their ability to solve problems and to better serve the companies concerned.
This is the spirit behind the creation of TEXTRANET.
