IFTH’s textile specificity can help a company know how to react in a given administrative, organisational or technical situation, which is specific to it within the framework of a REACH approach.

The initial role of IFTH is to help a company understand what REACH means for it, how it is involved, and what it must do. This role translates into training and assistance when drafting reports and documents.

IFTH’s knowledge in matters of textile processes and the different studies carried out among the profession have allowed the Institute to draw up an inventory of the substances involved. This information has been compiled in a database that contains environmental data on over 1000 references. In this respect, in association with UIT and FET, a collection of data is in progress in order to complete and enrich this database with the “Reach” data. The latter will make it possible to identify the substances, monitor them at the level of pre-registration and communicate on their risks..

The Institute’s expertise in designing a product allows it to advise the client on the scope of the tests to be carried out, target and filter them, and identify real risks, as opposed to certain organisations, which require that all tests be made, whether they are necessary or not.

Its knowledge of products allows it to guide the client in the choice of substances to be analysed.

Finally, if the substances in question are imported, especially when they are part of a preparation, IFTH proposes its services in order for the client to ensure traceabilility of the substance.
