
A new measurement campaign, specific to persons of more than 70 years of age, who represent over five million French citizens, has been in progress in Troyes since 11 June 2007.
Persons of more than 70 years of age represent 5 million French citizens. Changes in their morphology are not well known and not at all integrated into the design of clothing. The new Measurement Campaign for Seniors aims at meeting the needs in equipment for the elderly by proposing suitable clothing, which combines proper fit, comfort and aesthetics as well as ease of pulling on. Moreover, by characterising the body’s shapes and motion of the joints, the results can be used to improve living conditions (ergonomics in transport, the habitat and medical equipment).
